about the artist

Holly W Simmons, is an emerging contemporary abstract artist, based in Scottsdale, AZ. She is a health care professional and has worked as a clinician, consultant, and health care operations leader, as well as a leader of national business development teams.  Her interest in developing her art production skills started while living in Southern Virginia in 2016.

Holly has always been a consumer of contemporary art, and had dabbled in photography, and sketches and drawings, often with geometric patterns, or human profile sketches.  In an effort to her pursue her true artistic passion, she began studying various contemporary art concepts and was particularly drawn to the mesmerizing and unpredictable effects that can be created with acrylic pour painting.  She is self-taught and also creates works with other abstract acrylic painting techniques, beyond pouring.  Every piece created is a study in color, technique, and finish.  All materials used in the creation of her pieces are of the highest quality, including the use of archival ingredients and finishes.  Every painting is finished with resin or varnish. 

Holly loves creating multimedia works, some with embedded additional design elements, such as hearts or peace signs.  She will continue to experiment with personally-meaningful symbols and design methods to create unique works and express her passion for the beauty of abstract art, color, personal expression, and the opportunity to provoke smiles, joy, and peaceful feelings.
